Families of children with special health care needs will partner in decision-making at all levels and will be satisfied with the services they receive.
Why is this important?
Families are the constants in a child's life and are pivotal in creating a system of care. Family members, including those representative of culturally diverse communities, must have a meaningful and consistent role in the systems development at the state and community levels. Family input and participation is necessary for decision-making in all strategic planning efforts. Ensuring the satisfaction of families and youth is an integral component of continuous quality improvement (CQI).
